From the beginning it was included among the projects for the enhancement of Bonagia's heritage which led, in 2019, to the opening of the museum located inside the Torre della Tonnara. One of the most evocative places in Sicily ancient, not only inspired its name, but became the stage for the first edition of the Muciara Short Film Festival. The festival, however, has a soul, breathes and moves: Custonaci (TP) is therefore the new theater where the second edition of the festival will take place.

Muciara

The term muciara derives from the Arabic name «mucir » which indicates the smallest boat of the Tonnara, which was used by the Rais (team leader) to move from one point to another in the trap.

The muciare of the Sicilian tuna fisheries represent finds industrial archeology.
